Welcome to Cause-a-Quest!
A live-action, Dungeons & Dragons–inspired comedy show where storytelling, strategy, and audience participation collide. Follow a party of brave (and sometimes questionable) adventurers as they navigate a world of magic, danger, and unpredictable twists all while you help decide what happens next. Through real-time interactions, the audience helps shapes the narrative, influencing critical decisions and even character fates. Every show is a unique, ever-evolving quest where anything can happen. Will the heroes claim victory against impossible odds… or crumble when fate turns against them?
Campaign: What Happened Last Night?
The torches are lit, the dice are rolling, and destiny is once again on the line in this year’s Cause-a-Quest! Our heroes stand at the end of a great victory… or so it seems. The false king has fallen, the kingdom is safe, and the people are free. But something isn’t right. The party awakens not to celebration, but to confusion. Their memories are gone. Their past deeds, their bonds, their very identities… wiped clean. All that remains are scattered clues, uneasy feelings, and the growing suspicion that their triumph came at a terrible cost.
Who were they before this moment? What really happened in the final battle?
As the mystery deepens, the stakes rise. Every choice could bring them closer to the truth… or lead them further into deception. The truth they uncover might be more dangerous than the lies they’ve forgotten. Will the party reclaim their memories and uncover the truth behind their lost past? Or will some secrets remain buried for a reason?
Meet the Dungeon Master!

Kenneth “Fuzzy Kaiju” Weaver
I was introduced to D&D (3rd Edition) in 2001 at a Lair deep in the mountains of Morgantown while I studying the arts of Lighting Magic. I have played many campaigns since then and played interesting characters like a Ghost and a Squirrel. I have DM’d once before and this will be my 3rd time running a campaign.
Meet the Characters!
Character

Character Description
Justin “Time” Foreseconds
(Rock Gnome/Chronurgy Wizard)
A lifelong tinkerer, Justin has spent decades immersed in the intricate mechanics of clockwork and the mysteries of the arcane. Through this unusual fusion of study, the older gnome has begun to unlock the secrets of chronomancy—earning him the fitting nickname, “Time.” With a mind as precise as the gears he once crafted, Time now wields forces as unpredictable as they are powerful.
Mizzle
(Goblin/Bard)
Mizzle is the happiest goblin! She likes to laugh and sing and make the pretty rocks go click-clack! Mizzle is the BEST goblin because she knows the secret songs of STUFF. Having fun adventures with all her friends is the very most bestest time for Mizzle!
L34F
(Warforged/Druid)
Morgan Deep
(Human/Warlock)
Mighty Sprout
(Rock Gnome/Barbarian)
Not many kids can say they were kidnapped by a witch and lived to tell the tale, but Mighty Sprout didn’t just survive… she got returned. She’s all grown up now with wild eyes and hair to match, Sprout charges headfirst into danger, curiosity blazing brighter than her better judgment. Spunky, rambunctious, and just a little unhinged, Mighty Sprout is here to prove that sometimes the most dangerous thing in the room… is the smallest.
David Walker
I’ve been playing D&D for almost a decade. I had first stumbled upon D&D with Acquisitions Inc through Penny Arcade and thought that it looked like it would be fun to play. I made the choice to DM before ever playing. My first campaign lasted over 5 years and I have played a number of characters and systems since. My favorite D&D shows are Critical Role and Dimension 20.
Aeriell Turner
First introduced to D&D with edition 3.5 in the late 1900s, she has had something of a lifelong obsession with the game and TTRPGs in general. After playing sporadically for years and running one-shots here and there, she has recently taken up the mantle of DM to run a homebrew campaign for a group of (nearly) all-women.
Ray Skroback
Started playing with AD&D 2nd edition, can actually explain THAC0 in a way that makes sense. A near-encyclopedic knowledge of the game but more of a rules advocate than a rules lawyer. True chaotic-good alignment.
Maddie Kreitz
I started collecting dice well before I played for the first time in mid 2024. I joined a beginner-friendly one-shot on Reddit, which was fun, until the DM invited us to a full campaign that would continue from the one-shot. He then changed the system twice in three sessions, relied entirely on player notes, and changed my character from a fighter into a paladin without talking to me because I picked up a sword as part of our quest and his story needed a paladin. I decided not to keep playing with this group after that, and I wasn’t sure if DnD was for me.
Fast forward to 2025 and my mom finds an advertisement for a ladies’ night DnD group at the Dragon’s Den in Beckley. I wasn’t originally going to join due to my previous experience with DnD and my nerves about playing in person, but I gave it a shot because I already knew the DM from working Fright Nights. So, with encouragement from my mom, I dusted off my dice and tried again despite my fear. Now over a year and two Google Docs of roleplays between sessions later, I have no regrets. I couldn’t be happier getting to play with my wonderful friends as we tell one big story together.
Dezi Christian
After only dabbling in TTRPGs over the years, Dezi is the epitome of a newbie. What she lacks in experience from only playing D&D for one year consistently, she makes up for it with fun time shenanigans and sunshine energy.
